Hi, I'm Sarah.
I'm a destination wedding photographer, interested in unique photographs that capture authentic, natural beauty. My photography strives to be honest, reflective, creative & visually inspiring. To me, weddings are an opportunity to stop and enjoy some of life's most beautiful simple pleasures — friends & family, music & food, dance floors & flowers — and indulge in all of these things with the people you love.
My work has been featured in Rangefinder Magazine, A Practical Wedding, Green Wedding Shoes, Offbeat Bride, Rock ‘n Roll Bride, Yoga Journal and the New York Times. I've photographed couples in love in many corners of the world, from the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, to the streets of London, to the rice fields of Indonesia, to the cliffs of Scotland and more.
Photography has had my heart since I was a little girl. Other things that have my heart include my sweet pitbull rescue, my backyard chickens, ducks & bees, digging my hands in the earth, cooking with food grown from the garden, making things out of clay, practicing yoga and mindfulness, supporting women in childbirth and motherhood, backpacking, and wine on porches with people I love.
I am so thrilled to photograph your wedding day, on the road or wherever it is in the world you call home.
My wedding photography prioritizes not only a couple in love, but all of the loving relationships that flourish on a wedding day. Couples who choose to get married alongside others — whether that be one witness, fifteen family members or two hundred of your dearest friends — do so because they deeply value those relationships and want to honor those who have loved and supported them. This is why I believe it's so important to photograph authentic expressions of love between all of those in attendance at a wedding — mothers and daughters, grandfathers and grandbabys, aunts and uncles, beloved friends. As a wedding photographer, I am honored to hold space for real, emotional moments to unfold and be photographed.
It's an unbelievably joy to work with couples who seek both an artist and a storyteller in their wedding photographer. To witness such honest and hopeful expressions of love, to capture candid images of unplanned moments, dynamic faces that express true personality, photos that pay attention to all of the many unique relationships that thrive on a wedding day - this is where my heart lies. Each weekend I have the chance to make honest connections and develop real relationships with couples interested in beauty, creativity, and a journalist touch. And for that I am so very grateful.
